About
about me
Hi there, I’m Gurdeep (Gur-deep, she/her) Kalsi.
I am a qualified child, family and couples Psychotherapist. I have a background in Psychology and have previously worked as a Social Worker mostly in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) context in the NHS. I have over 15 years experience of working within CAMHS settings (generic and Neurodevelopmental CAMHS) and have a lot of experience in working with complex systems.
Alongside the Circle Therapy Space I work in the NHS with Looked-After Young People and their caring systems which includes extended family members, (Special Guardianship Carers) foster carers and their families, residential homes and social workers).
I have extensive experience of working with various mental health challenges, such as functional issues, (when psychological symptoms are caused by emotional factors), worries, low mood, self-harm, trauma; the impact of children’s mental and physical health on siblings and parents/couples; child-on-carer aggression; co-parenting family dynamics, blended families though fostering/adoption; families experiencing conflict; disconnection and communication breakdown and family estrangement.
